Thanks, Dad, for teaching me the finer things in life: naps, the ocean, love, and family. (Taken with Instagram)
Train Song 11/23/11

I took the train one holiday

Headed south along the coast.

I saw old men and women

Just old enough to need assistance

Their skin sagging and wise with age

Wise with stories of

Life

War

Love

I saw newborn boys and girls

Just old enough to walk

Their skin plump and wise with youth

Wise with the power of the unknown

The entire world waiting for them

I saw friends and lovers holding hands

Sharing moments

Watching the sun set over the pacific.

And I wished I had a lover

To share my wisdom with

To share my youth and

The power of the unknown.

What if the train had fallen

Off those man made tracks

Into the majestic ocean below?

Would you have even wondered where I’d gone?
